Lunch at a Landmark is an annual event hosted by the New York Landmarks Preservation Foundation. Established in 1980, the NYLPF supports the work of the New York City Landmarks Preservation Commission to foster public awareness of preservation through educational outreach.
The honoree and guest speaker at the 2019 Lunch at a Landmark, was Annabelle Selldorf, FAIA, of Selldorf Architects. Basil Walter, AIA, currently the Chair of NYLPF, recognized Ms. Selldorf for her contribution to architecture in New York City and beyond.
Stage and centerpieces for the event were designed and fabricated by BWArchitects. Bookends fabricated of walnut and steel were etched with historic district maps, referencing the NYLPF’s Historic District Marker Program.
The Foundation sponsors the Bronze Landmark Plaque and Historic District Marker programs, denoting designated Landmark Buildings and Historic Districts in the five boroughs of the City, and works closely with the Commission to assist in furthering their efforts and overall mission to protect and preserve historic New York.
